A word from the FIFA
President. |
|
One only needs a small
degree of media awareness to realise that football
is an integral part of society’s fabric.
In particular, the worlds of football and business
are becoming increasingly intertwined in the popular
consciousness. |
|
This can also be seen
in the form of major football conventions, among
which the China International Football Exhibition
2004, due to be held from 15-18 July in Beijing,
will seek to promote our game as an activity transcending
the boundaries between sports, business, education
and culture. By offering a platform to all stakeholders,
such as clubs, players, managers, service providers
and other experts, the China International Football
Exhibition 2004 is set to prove that football
is more than just a game |
|
China and the Chinese Football Association
(CFA), led by President Yuan Weimin, are the appropriate
hosts for such an event in a year that marks such
special occasions such as FIFA’s 100th anniversary
and the Asian Football Confederation’s 50th
anniversary as well. In addition, the China International
Football Exhibition 2004, as a part of the Asian
Cup 2004, is the perfect complement to the tournament,
putting the event at the centre of attention of
all Asian football. |
|
On behalf of FIFA I would like to
congratulate the CFA for this far-sighted initiative
and extend my best wishes for what is certain
to be a most interesting event. |
